Visitors had the option of a 1 hour or 2 hour walk. ![]() Photo courtesy Amy Blaylock Both walks started from behind the Kindergarten at Renwick Street, along Kikuya and Gorelon Tracks and then followed Spring Creek down to the Sturt River. The short walk followed the Sturt River upstream, whilst the long walk went down stream along Ctenotus track to meet up with a new section of track under construction at the Flinders University at Tillite track. ![]() The weather was warm and sunny, but the air was fresh and clean from the previous nights rain. This made the track a little slippery in sections but there was plenty of water in the Sturt River to add to the atmosphere. ![]() Photo courtesy Amy Blaylock Whilst the track was a little rougher than some walkers expected, the route is one of the gentlest access to the gorge and allowed visitors to experience the wonders of the park which, otherwise, they might not have the confidence to reach. ![]() Photo courtesy Larry Resch Some of the spectacular old remnant eucalypts: ![]() Photo courtesy Amy Blaylock Outcrops of glacial deposits (Sturt Tillite): ![]() Photo courtesy Bob Grant A cool walk in the shade along side the flowing Sturt River: ![]() Photo courtesy Bob Grant A light morning tea was served afterwards. ![]() Photo courtesy Amy Blaylock
