Please refer to the attached map for details, ignore the blue broom area on the northern side of the river.
We will have a break for morning tea at 10:30 so bring along your own snacks and drinks.
We should finish by 12:00 noon.
Albert will lead on behalf of Bob.
Cheers, Albert Kuster

  • Hello FOSG Members,

Within the next week we have:

Two Planting Working Bees:

1) Thu 6th July 2023 Gorelon Track
2) Sat 8th July 2023 Renwick St Reserve

These planting bees are only a few days apart, but hopefully you can attend one or the other, or better still, both!
1) For Thu 6th July meet by 9 am at Gate 27 on Gorelon Dve. Flagstaff Hill (access from Black Rd via Botanic Dve). From there we will 4WD down the Gorelon Track to the revegetation site, or you can walk down if you wish. A few trowels will be available, but if you can, please bring a trowel, mattock, and something with which to knock in stakes.
This working bee will be a continuation and expansion of planting done in early June, and previous years. Leaders: Jenni Statton & Rick Coyte.
Morning break will be at 10.30 but please bring your own refreshments. In case of showers, it’s probably a good idea to bring wet weather gear. We have 112 plants to put in (last time it was 150) so we will finish around 12 noon or sooner if we run out of plants.

2) On Sat 8th July meet by 9.30 in the reserve beside the Flagstaff Hill Kindy in Renwick St. This will be an Onkaparinga Council and FSG working bee where the council supplies most of the plants and we put them in. As she did last year, Leanne Lawrence from the council’s conservation team will attend and bring most of the plants. These will be sedges to plant along the creek line to hold the soil and further counter erosion. Rubber boots are advised. The sedges should be easy to plant and will not need tree guards.

Morning break will be about 10.45 but please bring your own refreshments. In case of showers, it’s probably a good idea to bring wet weather gear. We will finish around 12.30 or sooner if we run out of plants. Leaders: Leanne Lawrence, Jenni Statton & Rick Coyte.
